HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

Part 1: GENERAL POLICY STATEMENT

Current Health and Safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations impose duties on both employers and employees.

Our policy is to provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees, and to provide such information, training and supervision as they need for this purpose.

We also accept responsibility for the health and safety of other people who may be affected by our activities.

Adequate resources will be allocated to the management of health and safety.

Adequate facilities and arrangements will be made to enable employees to raise issues of health and safety.

Every employee must co-operate with us to enable all statutory duties to be complied with. The successful implementation of this policy requires total commitment from all employees irrespective of their position in the company. Each individual has a legal obligation to take reasonable care of their own health and safety; and for the safety of other people who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

The allocation of duties for safety matters and the particular arrangements which we have made to implement this policy are set out in parts two and three of this document.

This policy will be kept up to date, and reviewed annually or following relevant legislative or organisational changes.

Overall and final accountability for health and safety in the company is that of Tony Maden, Managing Director. The day to day responsibilities for the management of health and safety are delegated to Ian Stanyer, Quantity Surveyor.
